Valuable Lessons I’ve Learned About Health
Your feet form the foundation of your body’s structure and require being kept strong and healthy. When your feet are in distress, they cause problems in your body like pain, infections, fatigue, immobility, and so on; thus, you need to look after them with great care. To make your feet feel loved, do these to them;
You must clean your feet every day and dry them properly. Cut your toenails to avoid keeping bacteria or causing pain when your toenails come into contact with your shoes’ walls as you walk. Do not cover up ugly toenails with polish because they could be a sign of trouble.
Evaluate them for difficulties
Closely inspect your feet to look out for scaling on soles and peeling in between toes which indicate athlete’s foot. Check to see that your nails are not discolored because that could be an indication of fungus. Address any issues you notice promptly and appropriately.
As your feet wear and tear, they may cause dry, cracked, or scaly skin, especially if you frequently wear open shoes. Nourish your feet’s skin with a generous layer of moisturizer. Avoid applying moisturizer on the areas between your toes to keep them dry and free from bacteria.
Sweat creates a perfect environment for bacteria to develop and harm your feet. Wearing socks keeps off the sweat by absorbing it and also protects your feet from wear and tear. Socks made of cotton and wool are good choices because they quickly absorb moisture. High-performance socks are suitable for athletes because they absorb sweat and don’t compress as much as natural fibers when saturated with sweat.
Foot alignment socks are excellent to separate, stretch, and align your toes after you have been on your feet for long. They reduce the consequences of wearing improper, narrow, and confining shoes. My Happy Feet avails toe separator socks to people of all age groups.
Wear cozy shoes
Your shoes must be the right size always. When they fit too tightly, they cause hammer toes, ingrown nails, corns, and pain. Oversized shoes do not allow your soles rest in place, leading to blisters, calluses, and sore heels. Do not wear high heels frequently to avoid harming the bones of your feet and spine. Preferably wear breathable shoes whenever and keep changing them to keep them sweat-free.
Taking a walk every day will keep your feet’s muscles firm, and your tendons and ligaments flexible. When your feet are strong, they are resistant to stress and do not get hurt easily. If your feet feel sore from walking, fetch some arch support inserts to keep your feet in the proper position as you walk and shoe inserts to absorb shock, and walk on soft ground.
Keep away from anything that can cause harm to your feet such as sharing footwear, walking barefoot in public spaces, straining them too much, walking on rough surfaces, and so on.
